A wintery hike up Mt Cavone/Tschafon

Fancy a hike up Monte Cavone/Tschafon during your holiday in Tiers?

Winter transforms Tiers am Rosengarten into a dreamlike wonderland. The landscape is covered in a blanket of snow that shimmers elegantly in the sunlight, creating an enchanting scene that invites exploration – and there’s no better starting point than the Cyprianerhof.

Whether you’re carving ski trails in the charming Carezza Dolomites ski area, enjoying a toboggan ride on the Catinaccio/Rosengarten slopes, or conquering a winter via ferrata, the possibilities are endless! For a closer encounter with nature, a (snowshoe) hike around the Cyprianerhof is the perfect choice. These scenic hikes offer a tranquil immersion in the region’s beauty, with Tiers’s local mountain, Mt Cavone/Tschafon, providing an ideal backdrop for your winter adventure.

You can begin your journey either from the hotel or the Weißlahnbad car park. There are various routes to choose from, but we recommend a moderately challenging hike to Mt Cavone/Tschafon via the Wuhn/Wuhnleger pond. Remember to pause occasionally to take in the breathtaking panorama of the Latemar and Catinaccio/Rosengarten peaks. From the Mt Cavone/Tschafon mountain hut, it’s less than half an hour to the weather cross on Punta Balzo/Völseggspitze. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view stretching from the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal valley across the Renon/Ritten plateau to numerous Dolomite peaks.

Back at the hotel, the Similde Spa is the perfect place to soothe your tired muscles. Here too, nature is ever-present, its treasures forming the foundation of our mountain wellness experience. Whether in the fragrant Swiss stone pine sauna, the soothing salt room, the calming hay bed, or the revitalising saltwater whirlpool, every moment is designed to bring you closer to nature’s restorative power. Are you looking forward to your stay with us, nestled between the majestic peaks of the Dolomites and the tranquillity of mountain wellness?
